Smith & Wesson First Model Top-Break Double Action Revolver, #7541, .44 Russian cal., 6'' barrel, nickel finish, blued small parts, case hardened hammer and trigger, checkered black two-piece hard rubber S&W grips, blade front and fixed ''V''-notch rear sight. Matching serial numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel assembly, and barrel release lever. Barrel address is marked in two-line and has ''MAY 11 & 25, 1880'' last patent date. Mfg'd circa 1881-1910. Revolver is in very good condition overall, retaining approx. 80% of its nickel finish, with patina in the areas of finish loss. Blued finish shows thinning and toning, approx. 75% remains. Case colors on the hammer have toned dark; trigger mostly silvered. Grips with light handling marks, primarily to the smooth sections. Action functions well.
